A few gems from my photoshoot at Emerging Above Ground 2007. This festival was organized by Holly Johnston and was an excellent showcase of Los Angeles-based choreographers and dancers.

The physicality, expression and sheer beauty made this a landmark event for my approach to dance photography. I shot the dress rehearsal and one of the performances. In both cases, the performers went back to back, with no time for my usual light adjustments or spacial arrangement.

It was a very demanding and incredibly rewarding shoot.
